As the FELS Group, we exist to make wealth building through a GmbH as simple as a single click. The FELSFO app, FELS Family Office's digital platform, is where that happens: it brings together investments, professional brokerage, and automated securities accounting in a single solution – instead of fragmented individual tools and manual processes. This includes FELS Broker, through which more than 500 GmbH owners already trade across 150+ markets, WEPA, our automated securities accounting engine with DATEV export, and the full-service offering of FELSEN Steuerberatung for bookkeeping, annual financial statements, and tax returns.

For all of this to keep running smoothly going forward, we're looking for a CTO to join as soon as possible who thinks in systems and brings the technological foundation for that promise.

Your Mindset & Your Role:

Technology is more than code to you – it's a strategic tool to move a company forward. As CTO, you own the technology vision for the entire FELS Group: you set the strategic direction, advise our engineers, and act as the go-to sparring partner for management on technology decisions. The focus is less on hands-on coding day-to-day, and all the more on value-creating impact across the whole group.

Our stack: TypeScript/Node, MySQL/Prisma, Python, Kubernetes, and Ruby/Rails/Rust – a real production system, not a purely conceptual role.

Your Work Experience:

Background: Director-level experience from a regulated fintech company or equivalent.
Financial acumen: Solid financial and tax knowledge or a strong interest in and fascination with the finance and tax sector.
Technical foundation: Enough hands-on experience of your own – for example with mature, production systems, architecture decisions, and API integrations – to soundly assess technical decisions, even without coding day-to-day yourself.
Business acumen: You understand the business context and value contribution of technology, not just the technology itself.
Language skills: Business-fluent German, English as the working language in code and technical documentation.
Nice to have: Experience with ledger or booking engines and securities, ETL and broker or bank data feeds, DATEV or other accounting-software integrations, data protection, and German tax and accounting standards (HGB, InvStG, § 8b KStG) or a tax advisory or audit (WP) firm.
